TRUMP'S TRADE WAR : Huawei Proves It Doesn’t Need the U.S. to Succeed

Huawei P20 Pro - An Amazing Phone with a 40M, 3 Camera Setup with incredible low light performance (Not available in Trump land)

Earlier this year, fueled in part by the U.S. government’s concerns over security and potential espionage, AT&T, Verizon, and Best Buy all backed out of deals to carry Huawei phones in their retail stores.

This forced Huawei to shift its attention away from the U.S. and focus more on other markets such as Europe and Asia. Despite this situation in the U.S., Huawei sold more than 54 million devices last quarter.

Date released by IDC shows that Huawei managed to push Apple Inc to #3 position in-terms of number of devices shipped. This is more than a 40% gain YoY compared with 2017.

As for concerns over the security of Huawei devices, with the U.S. government never having actually shown proof of Huawei phones being used to spy on its owners, you’ve got to ask what could the NSA, CIA, FBI, or any other three-letter intelligence groups possibly know that their counterparts in France, Germany, and the UK don’t—all places where Huawei’s business has thrived while being essentially shut out from the U.S.

If things continue down this path, Huawei may continue to skip over the U.S. when it comes to releasing its latest high-end handsets. In a time when Samsung and Apple dominate the premium smartphone market and as handset prices continue to rise, what we need is more competition, not less.

With phones like the P20 Pro and its triple rear-camera setup, Huawei is pushing the limits of smartphone tech in ways that have forced both Samsung and Apple into the awkward position of having to play catch up.

With P20 Pro Huawei made a lot of smart decisions. Featuring a Kirin 970 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage as standard. Meanwhile the dual SIM tray is a boon for frequent travelers. But P20 Pro’s real treat is its giant 4,000 mAh battery. On our battery rundown test, the P20 Pro lasted 11 hours and 36 minutes.

The P20 Pro isn’t available in the US, and Huawei has no intentions of bringing it over.
